Meet Cherise…
Taking her vocal ability from her mother and her analytical thinking from her father, Cherise Ransome is ready to leave an indelible mark in the music industry. The 5'3" brown-eyed beauty from South Trinidad, has had singing in her blood from a tender age. With a foundation in music theory and piano from the Trinity School of Music (Grades 1-4), Cherise has been a musical force since her childhood, from penning songs in her bedroom to singing in church and school choirs. Her passion ignited with her first studio recording in 2004, transforming Eamon's hit "Don’t Want You Back" into the educational song "Learn."
Cherise's music has captivated audiences, including performances at the Tobago Jazz Experience from 2014-2017 with the Rhapsody Next Generation band. She has created advertisements for brands like Pulpy Minute Maid and Biskrem and collaborated with top producers, leading to hits like "Roboman Say" and "World Goes Round." Her 2016 track "Beautiful" with London Future and Ultra Records peaked on the Canadian iTunes Top 40 charts.
In 2019, Cherise featured on the AFROdisiac Riddim with her Island Pop song "Black White," produced by GioVanniRimz. Her singles “Police in the Hills” and “Back To You” gained acclaim, with the latter reaching the semi-finals of the International Songwriting Competition. During the pandemic, her song "Save Your Soul" provided comfort with its powerful urban style. Cherise is committed to musical authenticity and excellence and is now releasing her debut album "The Bridge" in 2024. Created over a six-year period under her label Island Rich Entertainment, Cherise says it is a culmination of experiences reflecting growth and learning about life, and understanding more about her spiritual growth.
"My music is inspired simply by the desire to release what was placed inside of me. An expression of life through my lens," she said.
What some people may not know about this Gasparillo Melody Maverick is her background in engineering, a passion she also shares with her father. While Cherise enjoys setting the stage on fire with her music, she is actually an introverted person by nature.
Cherise is always crafting new compositions and aims to release another studio album within the next three years. She also plans to strengthen her label, Island Rich Entertainment, as a key platform for promoting local and regional artists, highlighting the richness and diversity of Caribbean music.
